TESTIMONIALS

Lynn Murphy

Being a new widow is hard. There's not only grief, but anxiety over the future. Seeing these upbeat ladies of Club W who not only survived those hard times, but who have gotten back to living again and having fun, was so helpful to my recovery. I volunteered to help where I could and have made many great friends through Club W.

I was doing an interview and article on Club W (then known as the Widow's Club) for the Village Voice magazine. I had not previously known of its existence. That week I lost my partner of 12 years, Sy Singer. Since then the Club has been an integral part of my life.

Club W is a lifeline to those of us who have lost a spouse. Previously, living in OHCC for many years, happily with my husband, I was involved in many activities. Slowly, over the years I had to pull back my activities to care for my husband. It is only recently that I have become involved again with OHCC, becoming a member of Club W. I have met many new people and look forward to the various activities provided by the group. Unlike many members whose families live all over the country, mine are all local. It is so important to have caring people close by and Club W provides that for our members.
